Architectural Garments, part 2

This is a detail of Architectural Garment, Crochet. And here's just some of the results of my utterly insane expedition into Google images to get those details:

By the way, the New York Public Library now has images from it's vast collection online at https://digitalcollections.nypl.org/  You can get lost in it for hours, and l found many useful photos there.  Here, women sewing.

This woman and her sewing machine are in the top right corner, above.

I love Photoshop. It's addictively fun,  enabling me to take any image, turn it, twist it, mold it like clay and fit it into my art.

Photos from my trip to Budapest, combined with one women's face, another woman's hands, a gargoyles outer fins and a random frame.

Found this knitter in a book long ago, photographed her and saved her in my image library. I also gathered photos of women washing clothes:

Spent a long time placing this lady in a door frame, and never used the finished image.

After all that, THIS was the only washer who made it into the art:

There are many more images. As I said, this was a crusade into the World  of the Past. I was only long after I had arrived at the finished, backed, and photographed piece  - and made a second one - that I thought to ask "wait...where was I going?"

Tomorrow, that second piece.
